Mobile Ordering: A Blessing or a Curse?
As more and more people become overly-dependent on their iPhones and iPads, it’s no wonder that more and more food establishments are making mobile ordering apps available for their customers. Consumers can easily look up a restaurant or fast-food chain, read over the menu, and submit their order- all in the comfort of their own home. Or car. Or library. Or anywhere. While mobile ordering does make ordering food a hell of a lot more efficient, does it come at a cost to the interpersonal relationships we develop with restaurant owners and the employees at these food establishments? Some fast-food chains don’t think so and believe that mobile ordering is here to stay.
